Right this hostel is a small part of a huge chain of party hostels in Budapest. If you ttare travelling alone or in a small group go to this hostel its safe secure clean and super fun!! Fun is really an understatement. The staff are out to have a party with you every night but they are still responsible enough to guide you home after a messy night! Crash Giggles and Belch are great host and party animals. Watching crash doing his wine strawpedoes are a thing of beauty. make sure you take there advice on things to do as they are very knowledgeable. The hostel is on a great location walking distance to everything. When you arrive you instantly feel like one of the family. The worst part of my stay was leaving at 3 am after coming back from the pool party which is a must do! thank you crash for booking my cab, i was in no fit state. last but not least make sure you sign up for the family dinners these guys can throw down in the kitchen.
This place is small, and full of amazing people, always. Crash, Belch, and Giggles (the people who run the place) are some of the most uniquely fun and interesting people you will ever meet. If you are looking for the perfect place for exploring the city during the day, and partying at night, you MUST stay at Carpe Noctem. This place is perfect for the solo traveler--I guarantee you'll make friends here. I certainly did. This place is unbelievable.
Wow. This is the kind of place that makes you want to work in a hostel for the rest of your life. I was blown away by how fun and helpful Crash, Giggles, and Belch were. I came alone, and I left having become friends with almost everyone staying in the hostel. I also came for 2 nights, which was not nearly enough time. Seriously, if you can, take a week in a Budapest. Can't say enough good things about Carpe Noctem. This is so clearly the best hostel in the city.
This was my second time staying at Carpe Noctem and it was just as amazing as the first! You won't find friendlier staff or a better atmosphere anywhere else. They help you see the best Budapest has to offer during the day and especially at night. Had a blast and can't wait to go back! S/O to Belch, Crash, and Giggles for being the best staff around
This hostel was like no where else I've ever stayed and gave me memories that will last the rest of my life. If you're travelling through Europe, you want to see a beautiful city and you want wild parties with some of the most fun and friendly staff/travellers you could meet, staying at Carpe Noctem Hostel is a must-do!
I stayed here in November 2015 with a friend as part of a 10 day trip, split between Berlin and Budapest. The staff were extremely welcoming, giving us lots of invaluable advice on arrival, and because this hostel is small with only a few dormitories, you cannot avoid meeting other travellers. There is a night out 7 days of the week and everyone goes out together. It ends up feeling like a family, living in a family home, which it makes it very difficult to leave. I very nearly chose to miss my flight home and stay longer but I compromised by leaving with the promise that we would return one day...
Now that wait is almost over and we are going back this month (March 2016), so if you are considering booking too, perhaps we will see you there!
This hostel is truly the best in Budapest if your ready to have some fun. I came as a solo traveler and they welcomed me with open arms the second I arrived. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, recommending some awesome activities during the day and showing us all the great nightlife. From cave tours, to nightly boat cruises, and even a beer bike this was truly a one of a kind experience that I will always cherish. Only thing I keep thinking about now is when I can come back!
Liked: Amazing hostel, staff were really friendly and helpful. It's a party hostel so don't stay there if you're not up for a laugh but if you are the staff will do everything in their power to help you have all the fun! Would definitely stay there again.Location is right next to the train station and really easy to walk anywhere in the city from here. It is up a lot of stairs and not shiny and new but ust adds to the character if you ask me!
Liked: Carpe Noctem had a vibe different to other hostels I had been to. It is particularly homely with about only 20 guests and perhaps 5 staff. With mostly solo travelers, the communal dinner in the central living room is a convenient way to make friends for the night ahead. While this hostel describes itself as a party hostel, only mild pre drinking occurs here before the partying happens at Retox hostel nearby. So if you wish to party but also sleep then Carpe Noctem is good for you.
Disliked: There was no hot water when I stayed. A cold shower the morning after Spa Party was rough.With such a small quantity of guests it can be hit and miss with their quality :-/
Liked: Carpe Noctem OG is literally one of the best hostels you will ever stay in! The atmosphere is insane- with only 20 beds you get to know everyone there and it feels just like home. The staff are amazing and are helpfull with everything, and the location is pretty perfect as well. And the partying is amazing! I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Budapest- OG is the place to be!
